    You can plant dahlias, Iris’ hydrangeas,and Tiger Lillies.
    I would plant the big dahlias they are more sturdy than the smaller ones.

    lavender,Shasta daisies,pansies and herbs like sage,and chives
    Check out your local nursery.they grow the perrenials for your area and would help you plan a larger garden.

    bearded irises would blooom just before peony then catmint gailadia coreopsis black eyed susan coneflower sedums may night salvia hibiscus the choices are numerous

    Try calling a nearby florist and they most likely answer your questions. I found a large list of Massachusetts local florists. I suggest calling one close to where you live.
